The taste of a sea of gravel, with its plethora of shades — and marble blocks waiting to be carved in my father's workshop. Geometries, colors, so many flavors, so much potential. Whether by the banks of the Chiampo river, where as a child I enjoyed watching water continuously shape the rocks, or in that romantic workshop, where I used to spy on my father as his hands gave marble a new light and purpose. It was always inspiring, witnessing matter as its form changed. Opaque then bright, rough then smooth, from silence to music.
