Collections
Each collection begins with a place and a material. The pieces are shaped by hand from resins, powders and pure gold, and no two are the same.
I loved getting on my motorcycle and traveling through the countryside of Veneto and Romagna, in Italy — during hot summers, when the land reveals its soul and I can read its story. Strong volumes and hollow spaces, new dimensions to unfold, new flavors to portray.
The taste of a sea of gravel, with its plethora of shades — and marble blocks waiting to be carved in my father's workshop. Geometries, colors, so many flavors, so much potential. Whether by the banks of the Chiampo river, where as a child I enjoyed watching water continuously shape the rocks, or in that romantic workshop, where I used to spy on my father as his hands gave marble a new light and purpose. It was always inspiring, witnessing matter as its form changed. Opaque then bright, rough then smooth, from silence to music.
I love cities. I love the work of men's hands, like those of my father, repurposing profiles and dimensions. Buildings rising from Earth's shape — streets defining her ever-changing surface. Matter on matter, a concert of flavors.
When the moment came to choose flowers for our home in Vicenza, I felt the English Rose. The English Rose, her dense and rich architecture, always balanced in shape and proportions. The beauty of the English Rose blooming — I needed to metabolize it and make it my own.
The first time in New York, when I cried. And the energy… Shapes moved — lights screamed. And outside my window, Manhattan's bright. Fibers galvanized.
Arrows, flowers and a lucky charm: resin, glass powder and 24-carat gold leaf, shaped by hand in Vicenza for the summer.
